1. (v. i.) To emit air, chiefly through the nose, audibly and violently, by a kind of involuntary convulsive force, occasioned by irritation of the inner membrane of the nose.

2. (n.) A sudden and violent ejection of air with an audible sound, chiefly through the nose.

SNEEZE

snez (zorer, Pho`el-form zarar): "The child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes" (2 Kings 4:35). "Sneezing," better "snorting," is found in the description of Leviathan (the crocodile): "His sneezings (`atsishah) flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning" (Job 41:18 (Hebrew 10)).
